Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro’s progress on the European path so far is of particular importance for the overall pace of EU enlargement, Slovenia’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Anzej Franges said.

He said this during a meeting with Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic.

Franges, as stated from the Parliament, said that Slovenia strongly supports the European integration of Montenegro.

“He pointed out that the country’s progress so far is encouraging and of particular importance for the overall pace of EU enlargement”, the press release said.

The Parliament said that during the meeting, Mandic referred to the historic results achieved in Montenegro’s accession process by the 28th convocation of the Parliament.

He pointed out that Montenegro especially appreciates the support of Slovenia and its representatives in the EU institutions in the accession process.
