Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Monteput has launched a tender for the selection of a consultant to oversee the design and construction of the Smokovac–Tolosi section, marking the first step in the implementation of this part of the Bar–Boljare motorway.

“This is a 10.5-kilometre-long section representing an important infrastructure project in terms of traffic flow, given that it is planned as a bypass around Podgorica,” the company said in a press release.

Monteput stated that the purpose of this section is to significantly relieve traffic congestion and reduce traffic jams in the capital.

The tender was published in accordance with the standards of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is participating in financing the construction of this highway section.

The construction of the Smokovac–Tolosi section marks an important step toward further development of Montenegro’s road network and the improvement of overall transport infrastructure.
