Podgorica, (MINA) - In its latest report, the international organization Freedom House, ranked Montenegro again among partially free countries, as it did last year, with a total score of 68 out of 100.
The Freedom House report notes that Montenegro lost one point compared to the previous year, as well as that numerous laws proposed by the Government were adopted under an urgent procedure and without parliamentary debate.
Political rights in Montenegro were rated with 26 points out of a maximum of 40, which is a drop of one point compared to the 2024 report, while civil liberties scored 42 points out of a maximum of 60.
All countries of the Western Balkans are marked in yellow, representing partially free countries.
The Freedom House report states that global freedom has declined for the 20th year in a row, with 54 countries experienced a deterioration in political rights and civil liberties, and only 35 recorded improvements.
