Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting between the tourism ministers of Montenegro and Andorra, Simonida Kordic and Jordi Torres Falco, that tourism is a key economic sector for the two countries, which is why the exchange of experience and knowledge is of great importance in this field.
The Ministry of Tourism stated in a press release that Falco commended Montenegro’s progress in developing its tourism, particularly highlighting the potential for cooperation in ski tourism, as well as in other segments of the industry.
Kordic noted that Montenegro’s priority is to diversify its markets by opening up to new destinations, while at the same time strengthening its presence in the European market, in order to further enhance competitiveness, attract new tourists, and eliminate seasonality.
The Ministry also reported that Kordic met with the Director General at Slovenia’s Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, Dubravka Kalin, with whom she agreed that strong regional cooperation is of exceptional importance, especially within the UN World Tourism Commission for Europe, currently chaired by Montenegro.
Kordic and Kalin underscored the need for countries in the region to intensify mutual cooperation and coordination in tourism, in order to jointly achieve better results in promotion and the development of tourism products.
