European integration and business opportunities in focus

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic during his working visit to Vienna that greater engagement of companies from European Union member states is needed, particularly through participation in tenders and investment in key development sectors in Montenegro.

According to a press release from his Office, Ivanovic highlighted the importance of further encouraging European investors, given the current geopolitical circumstances.

During talks with the Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Christoph Matznetter, they agreed that a stronger presence of the Austrian Economic Chamber in Montenegro would further boost networking between Montenegrin and Austrian companies.

He also met with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian Parliament and President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Petra Bayr, as well as the head of the delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPO), member of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET), and the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Albania and Iceland, Andreas Schieder.

All meetings focused on topics such as the European Union enlargement policy, bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and Austria, with particular emphasis on political and technical support for Montenegro’s European integration, strengthening economic cooperation, and the broader geopolitical context.
