Podgorica, (MINA) – Podgorica-based waste management company Deponija will receive EUR 200,000 to improve its waste tire treatment plant, the Eco-Fund has announced.

It is stated that the funding is envisaged under the contract signed by the representatives of Deponija and the Eco-Fund, based on the Government’s conclusion of February 26.

The Eco-Fund stated that the aim of the project is to improve waste treatment in Montenegro, with a special focus on specific waste streams, by establishing an efficient and sustainable model for waste tire treatment. 

“The waste tire treatment plant is operational, and so far approximately 350 tons of waste tires hves been treated, which confirms its operational readiness and importance for further development of waste management system”, the press release stated.
