Podgorica, (MINA) – The central celebration marking the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegrin independence will cost EUR 2.6 million, while the organization of the music and stage program will be entrusted to the Music Center of Montenegro.

At its Tuesday session, the Government amended its Conclusions adopted on March 27, which had instructed the Ministry of Finance to allocate EUR 1.9 million from the current budget reserve for the celebration of Montenegro’s Independence Day and proposed that this amount be increased to EUR 2.6 million.

As stated in the proposal, following additional elaboration of the program activities and specification of the technical and organizational requirements for the celebration, it was determined that the increase in funding is necessary to ensure an adequate production, logistical and security framework, as well as the realization of a richer and more representative program.

The Government also considered issues related to the organization of the program content of the event.

“In this regard, it was assessed that the Music Center of Montenegro, as a public institution of special importance in the field of culture, has the necessary professional and organizational capacities to take over the organization of the music and stage program that includes the engagement of Montenegrin performers”, the information states.
