EPCG and UNDP strengthen strategic partnership for Montenegro’s green transition

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Elektroprivreda (EPCG) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro have advanced their cooperation by signing a financial agreement in Podgorica, paving the way for the concrete implementation of green transition initiatives.
EPCG stated in a press release that the agreement focuses on establishing a training center for green jobs, which will contribute to the development of knowledge and skills in line with the principles of a just transition and the priorities of Montenegro’s Reform Agenda.
“The partnership between EPCG and UNDP has been further strengthened by a previously signed Memorandum of Understanding, which serves as a foundation for long-term cooperation in the energy transition process,” the press release reads.
It is noted that, in this context, Pljevlja Coalmine plays an important role as one of the key actors in the just transition and one of the main beneficiaries of the activities arising from this partnership.
