Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – There were 26,500 unemployed people in Montenegro at the end of March, one percent fewer than in February.

According to the Employment Office, the unemployment rate stood at 8.98 percent. In the same period last year, it was 10.59 percent.

Since the beginning of this year, the Employment Office advertised a total of 7,600 vacancies.

Due to technical circumstances arising from the implementation of the new information system of the Tax Administration, data on the number of newly employed persons are not available.
