Efforts underway on improving business environment and strengthening competitiveness

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj, the Ministry of Economic Development is actively working on improving the business environment, strengthening the competitiveness of the economy, and implementing reforms aimed at accelerating Montenegro’s path toward the European Union (EU).

 

He met with Director for the Western Balkans at DG ENEST Valentina Superti, her team, and representatives of the European Commission.

 

“At the meeting, Gjeloshaj informed Superti about Montenegro’s progress within negotiating Chapters 1 – Free Movement of Goods, 8 – Competition, and 28 – Consumer and Health Protection, and highlighted the commitment to further alignment with the EU acquis,” the Ministry said in a press release.       

 

Gjeloshaj noted that the Government’s strategic goal is for Montenegro to become the next EU member state, adding and that it remains strongly committed to fulfilling all obligations arising from the negotiation process.
