Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a conference hosted by the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) that local authorities in Montenegro recognize the importance of improving the business environment and are ready to work on modernizing local administration.

PKCG President Nina Drakic said at the conference titled “Efficient Local Administration in the Function of Economic Development and European Integration” that the efficiency of local administration directly affects the pace of investments, the development of local economies and the overall competitiveness of the country. 

“A local administration that understands the needs of the business community, simplifies procedures, improves transparency and actively works on creating a favourable investment environment becomes a strong driver of economic development.,” Drakic said.

She added that it is therefore necessary to strengthen the capacities of local administrations in order to ensure their further development.

She underlined the importance of strengthening municipal capacities so they can take advantage of opportunities offered by European funds, which is supported by cooperation with public institutions and the business community.
