Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Elektroprivreda (EPCG) aims to be one of the key drivers of the energy transition, with the goal of increasing the share of renewable energy sources while maintaining stability and security of supply, said the company’s Executive Director Zdravko Dragas.
“We are currently in a strong investment cycle, developing solar and wind farms, modernizing existing capacities and strengthening the grid,” Dragas said at a panel dedicated to the importance of green hydrogen in the energy transition at the international H2 Conference 2026.
The major regional event, taking place today and tomorrow in Belgrade, has brought together experts from the energy sector, representatives of leading companies, investors and decision-makers from the region and around the world, focusing on the future of hydrogen as a key element of zero-emission energy systems.
At the conference, Dragas presented the results Montenegro has achieved in the energy transition process, with a particular focus on the implementation of renewable energy projects.
“Montenegro has significant potential for the development of hydrogen infrastructure. Thanks to the fact that we were the first in the region to adopt the Green Hydrogen Development Programme, a strategic document aligned with the National Energy and Climate Plan and European goals, Montenegro is positioned as an active player in the European transition,” Dragas said.
