Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to One Montenegro, the WiFi4WB initiative continues to contribute to balanced digital development in Montenegro by providing free internet access in public areas in Bijelo Polje and Rozaje.

The company stated in a press release that the internet, as a basic tool for education, information, and everyday life, is now more accessible to citizens, especially young people, further reducing the digital divide and strengthening digital inclusion.
“The WiFi4WB initiative, funded by the European Union and the Government of Germany, and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the EU4Digital project, aims at improving digital connectivity, strengthening the tourism offer, and bringing the region closer to European standards. The telco operator selected to provide free internet at public locations across Montenegro is One,” the press release reads.
Mayor of Bijelo Polje Petar Smolovic highlighted the importance of this project for the local community, noting that internet availability at high-traffic locations marks an important step toward improving citizens’ quality of life and further digitalizing the municipality.

According to Mayor of Rozaje Rahman Husovic, this is an important step forward in digital development.
“The implementation of the project within the WiFi4WB initiative marks a significant step forward for Rozaje, as we are already providing our citizens and visitors with the opportunity to use free and reliable WiFi at selected public locations and areas. This project confirms our commitment to digital transformation and to creating conditions for sustainable and inclusive development through accessible and reliable public internet infrastructure,” Husovic said.

Commercial Director of Operations at One Drago Kazic stated that investing in digital infrastructure is particularly important for communities with development potential, but also a need for additional support.
“At One, we believe that internet access is now a basic prerequisite for education, development, and equal opportunities for all. That is why it is particularly important for us to contribute to the digital empowerment of local communities in northern Montenegro, through the WiFi4WB initiative,” Kazic said.
