Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro can boast of meeting sustainable development goals, it was stated at the meeting between Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North Damjan Culafic and the UN Under-Secretary General and the Executive Secretary of UNECE, Tatiana Molcean.

According to the press release from the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North (MERS), the interlocutors exchanged views on key issues in the field of environmental protection, ecology and sustainable development.

Culafic pointed out that Montenegro is meeting all obligations under Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change conscientiously and responsibly, in line with deadlines set by the EU.

He said that significant support was received from the EU Delegation in Montenegro, as well as through the engagement of experts through IPA projects.

Molcean, accoding to the press release, emphasized the importance of further cooperation with international partners and highlighted the good cooperation with MERS.

“In the context of the European integration and the closing of Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change, UNECE can provide significant expert and technical support in that process”, said Molcean.
