Podgorica, (MINA) - The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has initiated criminal proceedings against seven individuals accused of forming a criminal organization and smuggling around two tons of cocaine.

According to the press release from SDT, criminal proceedings were initiated against R.B., I.Dj., M.T., L.D., K.D., V.D. and V.L., due to the criminal offenses of forming a criminal organization and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotics.

The defendants are accused of becoming members of a criminal organization led by now deceased G.V. in 2020. and an unknown individual, and that, together with other unidentified members, they transported 1,890 kilograms of cocaine from South America to Europe and Australia for sale.

The press release adds that R.B., I.Dj., M.T., L.D., K.D. are on the run and that the SDT will request from the Podgorica High Court to issue an arrest warrant.

“While the defendants V.D. and V.L. are under detention in another criminal case”, the press release adds.
