Herceg Novi, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Officers of the Police Administration filed criminal charges with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Herceg Novi against M.P. (37) from Kotor, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of abuse of position in business operations.
M.P. is suspected of having exceeded his authority in his capacity as executive director of Vektra Boka and acted contrary to the Law on Enforcement and Security after a ruling prohibiting the disposal of the company’s assets, namely the Hotel Igalo complex, became final.
The Police Administration explained that the property had been sold in February last year to the company H.G. CG, after which a decision was issued transferring the real estate to the buyer, meaning that Vektra Boka lost the right to dispose of the property and was obliged to hand it over to the new owner.
“However, M.P. subsequently concluded an annex to a lease agreement with the company J.P., extending the lease of a cadastral plot used as a parking area for a period of three years, until the end of October 2028, with an annual lease payment of €25,000,” the Police Administration said in a press release.
They added that M.P. thereby enabled the company J.P. to continue using the property and generating revenue, while simultaneously causing damage to H.G. CG, which had purchased the property. At the same time, he unlawfully obtained a financial benefit of €25,000 for Vektra Boka.
