Court revokes Vesna Bratic’s detention

 

Podgorica, (MINA) - A panel of judges of the Podgorica High Court has revoked the decision ordering detention of former Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vesna Bratic, the Court announced.

According to the Court’s press release, the criminal panel accepted the appeals filed by Bratic’s defense attorneys, and amended the decision of the investigating judge of February 17.

“In this way the proposal filed by Special State Prosecutor’s Office (STP) to order custody was rejected, and the suspect Bratic’s was released from detention”, said the Podgorica High Court.

The Court added that Bratic has been placed under a ban on leaving the place of residence, with electronic surveillance, as well as a ban on approaching to and meeting with witnesses within a distance of less than 50 meters.

It is stated that the imposed surveillance measures will remain in effect as long as necesary, and at the latest until the final conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
