Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Cooperation between the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) and the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) contributes to strengthening the professional and institutional capacities of the financial institution through continuous exchange of knowledge, experience, and best international practices, said CBCG Governor Irena Radovic.
According to a press release from the CBCG, Radovic met with CEF Director Jana Repansek to discuss priorities for further cooperation between the two institutions.
Radovic and Repansek reviewed CBCG’s participation in CEF programmes to date, as well as future cooperation priorities, particularly in light of Montenegro’s EU accession process and the increasingly intensive alignment of the CBCG with European central banking standards.
Radovic expressed a clear intention to transform the CBCG in line with the Needs Assessment project, which is an important framework for further improving the institution’s organization, processes, and operations, with the aim of achieving full institutional and operational readiness for European integration.
“Cooperation with the CEF contributes to strengthening the professional and institutional capacities of the CBCG through continuous exchange of knowledge, experience, and best international practices, which is especially important during the phase of implementing reforms and further alignment with the standards of the European System of Central Banks,” Radovic said.
The CEF is an international institution based in Ljubljana that operates as a regional hub for knowledge exchange and promotes capacity building and development of public officials and institutions in Southeast Europe.
