Cooperation between the authorities and operators key to regulating the games of chance market

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting in Belgrade that the fight against negative developments in the games of chance sector cannot be conducted solely through repressive and rigid legal models, but rather through serious strategies and a partnership between the state, competent institutions, and licensed operators.

At the second meeting of the Balkan Games of Chance Federation, it was concluded that only joint action can produce concrete results in controlling risks, protecting players, and eliminating illegal operators, which are currently the greatest threat to the market.

On behalf of the Games of Chance Operators Group of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), the meeting was attended by its president Filip Knezevic and vice president Milos Lalevic.

PKCG stated in a press release that the organization’s internal documents were adopted at the meeting, along with urgent goals of the Federation’s activities aimed at protecting the legal games of chance market, which is facing increasingly difficult challenges and serious pressures across the entire region.

“Representatives of member states pointed out that in many countries legislation is adopted without sufficient transparency and without a real understanding of the industry, its economic importance, and its role in controlling and preventing negative developments,” the press release reads.
