Consultation held on amendments to the Labour Law

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Employers’ Federation (UPCG), the adopted amendments to the Labour Law mark an important step in aligning labour legislation with the European Union (EU) acquis, particularly under Chapter 19 – Social Policy and Employment.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, UPCG organized a consultation today dedicated to the amendments to the Labour Law.

The event gathered around 100 business representatives, members of UPCG, with the aim of familiarizing them more closely with the provisions of the Labour Law, published in the Official Gazette on 15 April, as well as with the practical changes introduced by this regulation.

The new legal provisions were presented by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue: State Secretary Andjela Basovic, Acting Director General of the Directorate for Labour Irena Joksimovic, and independent advisor Marko Cipovic.

“The law has been aligned with relevant EU directives regulating work-life balance, transparent and predictable working conditions, equal pay, adequate minimum wages, as well as employees’ rights to information and consultation,” UPCG stated in a press release.
