Construction of the second motorway section to begin in late April or May

Speaking after the contract signing at Villa Gorica, Ljiljanic said that major projects require time, dedication, and thorough preparation.
“That was also the case here. A long and demanding process is behind us, but today we can proudly say that we have reached a long-awaited step forward,” Ljiljanic said.
Following a transparent international tender conducted in accordance with the standards of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the consortium Power China–Stecol–PCCD was selected to build the second section of the Bar–Boljare motorway.
The consortium met all technical criteria and submitted the most favorable bid, amounting to just under €694 million.
Executive Vice President of PowerChina International, Liu Shaoguan, stated that he is confident the consortium, in cooperation with local partners, will complete the project within the planned deadlines.
Ljiljanic noted that the financial structure is the result of successful cooperation with the European Union (EU) and the EBRD.

“This project should be a symbol of cooperation and friendship between Montenegro and China, as well as of national development,” Shaoguan said.
He added that the motorway is an infrastructure project of strategic importance, whose implementation will, among other things, stimulate regional development.
Shaoguan said that the construction of the second section of the Bar–Boljare motorway is the most significant infrastructure project for the consortium in Montenegro, as well as an opportunity to demonstrate their capacity and global experience.
