Construction of agriculture houses enters final phase

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The construction of agriculture houses in Berane and Pljevlja is entering its final phase, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management announced, reaffirming a strong commitment to improving agriculture and supporting farmers.

The Ministry stated in a press release that completion of the works and equipping of the facilities are planned by the end of June.

“These modern facilities will serve as central hubs for providing key services to farmers, enabling them to receive comprehensive support, from administrative procedures to expert advice. At the same time, employees will be provided with better and more modern working conditions,” the press release reads.

The agriculture houses will host regional offices of the Agricultural Payments Agency, the Ministry’s advisory services, the agricultural inspection, as well as services of the Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs.

Additionally, the presence of local agricultural services will contribute to strengthening cooperation with municipalities and ensuring a more efficient response to producers’ needs.

The Ministry also announced that the Agriculture House project in Niksic is in the final stage of preparation. The call for construction works is expected in July, while implementation will be supported through a new World Bank project for agriculture and fisheries development (CRFASD), which will be launched at the end of the month.
