Podgorica, (MINA) - A construction machine was set on fire early Wednesday morning at the wastewater treatment plant construction site in Botun.

The police told RTCG online that a security guard at the construction site reported around 6 a.m. that an unidentified individual had entered the construction site area and set fire to a construction machine.

Director of the Podgorica “Vodovod” Aleksandar Nisavic said that they were informed this morning that a construction machine used for excavation had been set ablaze, adding that he expects the authorities to respond effectively.

“In accordance with procedure, the contractor’s representatives reported the incident to the competent authorities and filed the necessary reports, so I hereby appeal to the competent institutions to react as soon as possible”, Nisavic said.

Botun resident Pedja Stojanovic stated that the local residents had nothing to do with the burning of the excavator and urged the authorities to investigate the case.
