Podgorica, (MINA) - The Constitutional Court upheld on Thursday three detention appeals filed by Danilo Mandic and found that the principle of due diligence was not respected in his case, in line with the standards of the European Court of Human Rights.
According to the press release from the Constitutional Court, five judges voted in favor of upholding the appeals, one voted against, while two judges issued concurring separate opinions.
“It was established that the competent authorities did not act with due diligence, as the delays were caused exclusively by their fault, while the defense did not contribute to the prolongation of the proceedings”, the Constitutional Court said.
