Podgorica, (MINA) - In the first three months of this year, the Constitutional Court of Montenegro resolved all constitutionality review cases concerning laws and by-laws dating back to 2018, as well as 361 constitutional appeals from 2024, the Court announced.
The press release states that in this way the Plan and program for resolving the cases for this year is being consistently implemented.
President of the Constitutional Court Snezana Armenko said that, after a long time, the Court completed the oldest group of normative cases from 2018, expressing expectation that the results in the second quarter would be even better.
“It must never happen again that citizens wait eight years for the Constitutional Court to decide whether a legal provision is in line with the Constitution or not”, said Armenko.
Armenko also pointed out that the Constitutional Court, in the first three months of this year, made decisions on 361 constitutional appeals.
“The Constitutional Court does not have a single constitutional appeal older than two years, and the goal is to resolve all appeals from last year by mid-year, while there are still 344 cases pending. I believe that with the dedicated work of judges and court advisors, we will achieve that goal”, said Armenko.
