Podgorica, (MINA) - The Government has adopted draft constitutional amendments to lift the immunity of its members in cases of criminal offenses against official duty, and has submitted them to parliament, announced Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Anti-corruption Momo Koprivica.

“Public office must not be a shield from the law. Those who lead the country must be on the front line of accountability”, Koprivica wrote on the X social network.

According to him, the proposed amendments represent a strong systemic measure of corruption prevention.

“This is a strong systemic solution for the prevention of corruption and a message of our readiness to meet the strictest anti-corruption standards”, said Koprivica, adding that the proposal also fulfills an important recommendation of GRECO.
