Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The non-governmental organization (NGO) Eco-Team will organize a conference titled “Energy Transition in Montenegro: A Formal Process or a Substantive Transformation of the Energy Sector” tomorrow.

According to a press release from the NGO, the event will bring together representatives of institutions, the energy sector, international organizations, and the expert community.

The conference will focus on the implementation of the CBAM mechanism and its economic consequences, as well as alignment with EU climate policies.

“A separate segment will be dedicated to the just transition in Pljevlja and the socio-economic challenges of that region,” Eco-Team stated.

Introductory remarks will be delivered by Diana Milev Cavor, Climate and Energy Programme Coordinator at Eco-Team, Peter Pozsgai, head of the working group for CBAM implementation preparation within the Energy Community, and Yolanda García-Mezquita, Head of Unit in the Directorate for Energy at the European Commission.
