Committee session postponed after Krapovic and ruling majority representatives fail to attend

Podgorica, (MINA) - The session of the Security and Defense Committee, which was scheduled to discuss the Information on the situation in the Army of Montenegro (VCG), was postponed on Friday due to the lack of quorum.

Minister of Defense Dragan Krapovic, Chief of General Staff Miodrag Vuksanovic, as well as committee members from the parliamentary majority did not attend the session.

Committee chair Nikola Zirojevic said that Krapovic and Vuksanovic did not announce their absence in advance.

“The Committee was not informed that they would not come, which makes the situation even more scandalous. Today’s session is postponed due to the lack of quorum”, stated Zirojevic.

He added that he was not surprised by the “cowardly behavior of Krapovic”.

Zirojevic pointed out that all invitations and documents had been sent to the Ministry of Defense in a timely manner.

Democratic People’s Party MP Vladislav Bojovic said that the absence of Krapovic and committee members from the parliamentary majority points to the crisis within the majority itself and the worrying situation in the security sector.

He pointed out that today was an opportunity to address what he described as very concerning relationship between Krapovic and the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic.
