Committee backs Injac’s nomination as Ambassador to Belgium

Podgorica, (MINA) - The International Relations and Diaspora Committee has issued a positive opinion on the Government’s nomination of Olivera Injac as Ambassador of Montenegro to Belgium.

Injac said during the Committee’s session that her priorities would include the improvement of cooperation with Belgium and Luxembourg, not only in the field of political relations, but also economic, scientific and cultural ones.

“My intention is to strengthen economic and cultural diplomacy, which are key aspects of improving relations with Belgium and Luxembourg, precisely through the activities of our diplomatic and consular representations”, said Injac.

Social Democrat MP Nikola Zirojevic said that there are many reasons why Injac should not represent the state abroad.

“During your tenure as the Minister of Defense, you oversaw the persecution of Montenegrins in the Armed Forces. The budget inspection confirmed that during your tenure funds were spent outside of the approved plan. You represented Montenegro as a country that has no influence on anything”, said Zirojevic.

Injac responded by saying that much of the information presented was false and most of the criminal charges against her were dismissed.
