Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Finance announced that a new cycle of the Training Programme for obtaining certification as a public sector accountant was launched today, confirming the continuous commitment to improving accounting capacities in public administration.
The Ministry also stated that certificates were awarded today to participants who successfully completed the previous cycle.
Director General of the State Treasury Directorate Dragan Darmanovic said that the strong interest in the programme confirms its importance and recognition as one of the key pillars of accounting reform.
He added that, in cooperation with the Human Resources Administration, it was made possible this year for 45 participants to attend the training instead of the originally planned 25 per cycle.
According to him, employees in these roles have an additional two years to obtain certification, giving them sufficient time for professional development and adaptation to new regulations.
It was also emphasized that the new regulatory framework largely follows international public sector accounting standards, further strengthening the quality and professional development of accountants.
Deputy Director of the Human Resources Administration Djuro Nikac said that training is key to strengthening institutions.
“By continuously investing in the knowledge of accountants, we are creating the foundations for more transparent and accountable management in the public sector, in the context of European integration,” said Nikac.
The training and certification programme aims to strengthen accounting capacities and support the professional development of employees, in line with international standards. The Ministry of Finance has already published a set of by-laws, while the next step is the development of a continuous training programme.
