Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to President of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Nina Drakic, challenges faced by the business community, particularly in the functioning of the IRMS system and the implementation of the Law on Business Organizations, have direct consequences for legal certainty and the competitiveness of companies.
At the roundtable “IRMS and the regulatory framework in practice: challenges, risks and solutions for more efficient business,” she stated that the problems are not only technical in nature, but also affect day-to-day business operations.
The event, organized in cooperation with the Tax Administration, brought together representatives of institutions and the business sector with the aim of improving dialogue and openly addressing key challenges in the functioning of the IRMS system, administrative procedures, communication with users, as well as registration processes and regulatory compliance.
“These challenges are not merely technical or procedural, they have a direct impact on legal certainty, operational efficiency, and the competitiveness of our companies. We are aware that digitalization and system modernization are necessary and inevitable processes, but we also believe it is important that these systems are fully functional and adapted to users’ needs, so that they do not become an additional burden on business,” Drakic said.
Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, Mitar Bajceta, pointed to key challenges faced by businesses, particularly in terms of administrative burdens, the application of tax procedures, and the functioning of the IRMS system.
He said that the business community expects further simplification of procedures, faster processing of requests, and clearer communication with institutions, in order to enhance competitiveness and facilitate everyday operations.
Director of the Tax Administration Sava Laketic said that such a format of dialogue is essential for building trust between institutions and the business community, emphasizing that an efficient tax system must be based on partnership, transparency, and predictability.
He noted that the Tax Administration has intensified activities to modernize the system in recent years, particularly through improvements to the IRMS platform, but also pointed out that challenges in the application of the regulatory framework persist.
