Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) is nearing completion of reconstruction works on the Budva–Lastva and Lastva–Tivat transmission lines, worth around €1 million, which are of great importance for the reliable electricity supply of the wider coastal region.
Engineer at CGES’s Development and Investment Sector Milica Vranic said that the reconstruction works on the transmission lines, spanning a total of 17 kilometres, include the replacement of conductors, insulators, suspension equipment, and connecting equipment.
“The value of the investment is around €1 million, and this is the second project for the modernization of Montenegro’s electricity transmission network, following the successfully implemented project from 2024,” Vranic told Mina-Business.
These transmission lines are of great importance for the reliable power supply of the wider coastal area, including Budva, Tivat, Kotor, and Herceg Novi.
According to Vranic, the project is particularly important for the security and stability of electricity supply in the coastal region, especially during the summer months when electricity consumption increases significantly.
