Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has contracted the procurement of equipment and vehicles worth €330,000 for the Fisheries Directorate and the competent inspection authorities.

Within the IPA 2021 EU project supporting the agricultural sector in Montenegro, through Component III – Fisheries, the Ministry is currently implementing activities worth more than €1.7 million, fully funded by the European Union.

“This component is an important segment of the overall activities aimed at strengthening administrative and inspection capacities in the fisheries sector,” the Ministry said in a press release. 

The procurement includes modern electronic equipment for administration and fisheries inspection, devices for monitoring fishing vessel activities, as well as vehicles for inspectors’ fieldwork. 

This significantly improves capacities for control and supervision, as well as the enforcement of legal regulations in the fisheries sector.
