Call for third generation of participants in Women on Boards Montenegro programme

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), he Central Bank (CBCG), has launched a public call for the third generation of participants in the Women on Boards Montenegro programme, continuing strong institutional support for greater participation of women in economic decision-making and corporate governance in Montenegro.

The aim of the Women on Boards programme is to strengthen women’s leadership potential in Montenegro and improve the business environment for the full implementation of the Law on Business Organizations, which transposed the EU Directive on gender balance on key economic decision-making positions into Montenegro’s legal framework.

The CBCG said in a press release the directive stipulates that women should make up at least 40 percent of board members and 33 percent of all director positions in large private and state-owned companies.

“During the two-month training programme, participants in the Women on Boards Montenegro programme will have the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge and skills in corporate governance, the regulatory framework and leadership competencies through work with renowned experts from the country and abroad,” the press release said.

The programme is designed as an intensive development cycle that combines theoretical knowledge, practical insights and exchange of experience.
