Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was stated at a roundtable organized by the Employers’ Federation (UPCG) that permit issuance procedures must be significantly accelerated due to labour shortages, with complete applications to be processed within a maximum of seven days.
At the event, organized by UPCG in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, participants discussed challenges in the employment procedures for foreign workers ahead of the upcoming tourist season.
“A shortage of labour is one of the key challenges faced by employers, especially in the sectors of tourism, hospitality, construction, and services, while the efficiency of the residence and work permit issuance system directly affects company operations and the success of the tourist season,” the UPCG said in a press release.
Particular emphasis was placed on the problem of inconsistent practices among regional units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, differing interpretations of the required documentation, as well as requests for additional documents that are not clearly prescribed by current procedures.
“The need to improve coordination between the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Tax Administration, and other relevant institutions was also emphasized, especially regarding data exchange and the obtaining of documentation through official channels,” UPCG said.
