Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The business environment in Montenegro remained at last year’s level, indicating that, according to a survey conducted by the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), it has entered a phase of stagnation after the negative trend caused by the pandemic subsided.
The overall assessment of this year’s business environment, based on a survey conducted in March, stands at 2.49, almost the same as last year’s score of 2.47.
PKCG President Nina Drakic said at the presentation that, compared with previous years, a certain level of stability in the perception of key business conditions can be seen, which may be the result of fewer disruptions and the gradual consolidation of the overall economic and institutional environment.
“However, the absence of stronger growth in the overall score indicates that the structural challenges burdening businesses have still not been sufficiently overcome. At the same time, business expectations for the upcoming period remain moderately optimistic, but at a lower level compared with the previous survey, indicating greater caution within the business community and the perception of a slower pace in improving the business environment,” Drakic stated.
She added that the results indicate that certain progress has been achieved in some segments of the business environment, but that broader and stronger progress, which would be reflected in the overall assessment, is still lacking.
