BiH and Montenegro to host digital nomads

BiH and Montenegro to host digital nomads

Niksic, (MINA-BUSINESS) – With the support of the European Union (EU), Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Montenegro will host digital nomads from different parts of the world this spring, who will spend a month living and working in rural areas of the two countries.

The aim is to promote the two countries as attractive destinations for remote work and sustainable tourism.

The Residency Programme, organized within the framework of the STAR project, will take place from April 15 to May 15 and is focused on promoting tourism and attracting digital nomads to rural border areas of BiH and Montenegro.

“Selected participants will spend a month on a carefully designed route through both countries, mostly staying in smaller communities and rural destinations. A month of travel, provided accommodation and food, along with the opportunity to work remotely and discover authentic local stories, sounds unreal — yet that is exactly what the Residency Program of the STAR project offers,” Tehnopolis said in a press release.

The key selection criteria for participants are the reach and quality of their social media communities, as well as their activity and presence within the digital nomad ecosystem (platforms, events, communities).

Participants are expected to make a concrete contribution to promoting the region as an attractive destination for digital nomads.

The STAR project is funded by the EU through the IPA III CBC Programme BiH–Montenegro 2021–2027.
