Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro remains committed to advancing its European integration, because the country must not miss a generational and historic opportunity, which transcends any party or individual interest, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic has said.

During his working visit to Brussels, Becic and Interior Minister Danilo Saranovic met with the Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib.

According to the Government’s press release, Lahbib congratulated Montenegro on the achieved results and expressed hope the country would continue on the same path.

Becic recalled that during the Belgian EU Presidency, thanks to, among others, Lahbib’s very dedicated and friendly approach, a historic milestone was achieved by receiving the IBAR report.

Saranovic said that the EU’s support in the previous period was extremely significant, because “through various programs and projects, Montenegro had the opportunity to train its personnel in the protection and rescue system for adequate and timely responses”.
