Podgorica, (MINA) – In previous days, despite attempts at destabilization through hybrid activities aimed at causing panic and disrupting public order, the institutions have demonstrated readiness to protect citizens and preserve security, said Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic.

He said that almost 43 public gatherings and manifestations throughout Montenegro, which brought together tens of thousands of citizens, were secured without serious incidents with 1300 police officers.

“Podgorica, Cetinje, Niksic and other cities have demonstrated that the state has the capacity to celebrate the most important dates in a dignified, responsible and safe manner”, said Becic.

According to the press release from his office, Becic stated that in the ASSET 2026 operation, Montenegro achieved the best individual result among the 34 participating countries.

“Assets gained through criminal activities worth around EUR 2.5 million were identified. In Kotor, the robbery was solved in a record time, the escape of four foreign citizens was prevented and almost EUR 100,000 returned to the owner”, Becic added.

He thanked the Police Administration and the National Security Agency for their professional, responsible and timely reactions.
