Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The process of establishing the Balkan Gaming Federation (BGF), the first regional initiative of its kind, was officially launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Belgrade.
According to a press release from the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), the games of chance industry in the Balkans has made a historic step forward.
This strong regional alliance includes the Association of Organizers of Gambling Games and Activities of Bulgaria (AOGGAB), the Association of Gambling Organizers in Republic of Srpska (UPIS), the Serbian Association of Gaming Operators (AGOS), the Croatian Association of Gambling Operators (HUPIS), the Romanian Slot Machine Operators Association (ROMSLOT), the Macedonian Games Industry Association MAK Gaming, and the Association of Gambling Operators of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.
“This initiative comes at a time when the industry across the region is facing increasingly restrictive legislation, a rise in illegal gambling, and a lack of a coordinated approach to key regulatory challenges,” the PKCG said.
The Federation’s goals are ambitious and concrete: a determined fight against the illegal market that threatens both the state and players, the promotion of responsible gaming and consumer protection, the creation of a more open and competitive market, and alignment with European standards and practices.
