Austria supports Montenegro’s reform processes

 

Podgorica, (MINA) - Austria continuously supports Montenegro’s reform processes and its EU path, it was assessed during the meeting between the justice ministers of the two countries, Anna Sporrer and Bojan Bozovic.

According to the press release from the Montenegrin Ministry of Justice, Bozovic met with Sporrer in Podgorica on Monday.

The Ministry stated that the meeting focused on the EU enlargement process, with special emphasis on Montenegro’s progress in negotiation chapters related to the rule of law.

“Bozovic informed Sporrer about the key results and challenges in the implementation of judicial reforms, emphasizing Montenegro’s commitment to strengthening the independence, efficiency and transparency of the judicial system”, the press release said.

It is added that Sporrer reaffirmed Austria’s support for reform processes in Montenegro and emphasized the importance of continuous improvement of institutional capacities and harmonization with the EU acquis.

Special attention, as the Ministry stated, was paid to the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of justice, including digitalization of court proceedings and improvement of access to justice.

The Ministry of Justice said that readiness to further deepen partnership relations through concrete initiatives and joint projects was confirmed by both sides.
