ASP: EPCG destroyed documentation on acquisition of Prva Banka shares

ASP: EPCG destroyed documentation on acquisition of Prva Banka shares

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The documentation on the basis of which Elektroprivreda (EPCG) acquired Prva Banka shares has been destroyed, as it was deemed worthless, the power company stated in response to a request from the Social Justice Action (ASP).

“Following information provided by the Main Financial Directorate that the documentation had been separated and destroyed as worthless registry material, in accordance with the Law on Archival Activity, it was determined that EPCG is not in possession of the documentation on the basis of which it acquired Prva Banka shares,” the company stated in a decision.

The document was signed by EPCG Executive Director Zdravko Dragas.

ASP representatives said that in mid-2025 they submitted a request to EPCG pursuant to the Law on Free Access to Information.

The NGO added that EPCG acquired Prva Banka shares worth millions of euros during the rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).

The largest individual shareholder in Prva Banka is Aco Djukanovic, the brother of former Prime Minister and President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic.

ASP announced that, despite EPCG’s claim that the documentation had been destroyed, it would file an appeal with the Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information due to a substantive violation of rights in this specific case.
