Around 200 police officers of Montenegrin origin serve in the NYPD

 

Podgorica, (MINA) - About 200 police officers of Montenegrin origin serve in the ranks of the New York Police Department (NYPD), contributing to the security of the multi-million-strong city with their professionalism, knowledge and dedication.

 

This was announced during a meeting between Minister of the Interior Danilo Saranovic, who is visiting New York, and members of the NYPD originally from Montenegro, who perform responsible and extremely demanding duties within one of the largest and most complex police systems in the world.

 

According to the Ministry’s press release, in an open and substantive conversation, experiences were exchanged about modern security challenges, the importance of preventive and intelligence work, as well as the role of the police in preserving public trust, social stability and security in an increasingly complex global security environment.

 

Saranovic said that he was pleased that people from Montenegro, through their work and professional integrity, represent an important part of the U.S. security system, stressing that their success is a special pride for Montenegro as well.
