Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Montenegro Foreign Investors Council (MFIC) have signed a cooperation agreement marking an important step towards strengthening the role of mediation in the legal system.
The agreement, signed by the Centre’s director Maja Golovic Vojinovic and MFIC Executive Director Arijana Nikolic Vucinic, aims to strengthen the use of alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation as an effective mechanism for easing the burden on the judicial system and improving access to justice.
“As part of this cooperation, joint training programmes, research and promotional activities are planned, aimed at increasing the use of commercial mediation among business entities and foreign investors,” the Centre said in a press release.
Golovic Vojinovic said the signing of the agreement is an important step towards strengthening the role of mediation in the legal system.
According to Nikolic Vucinic, MFIC members often point to the importance of practical mechanisms for resolving disputes.
The press release says that the aim of the cooperation is to develop commercial mediation as an efficient way of resolving disputes, reducing costs and preserving good business relations among companies.
