Tivat, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministerial Energy Forum, the first event in the field of energy within the framework of the Berlin Process, will be organized as part of the Adria Future Summit, taking place from 22 to 24 April in Porto Montenegro.
“The Forum is being held at a particularly important moment, as Montenegro advances in its European Union (EU) accession process while at the same time chairing the Berlin Process,” the Ministry of Energy and Mining and the Adria Future Summit stated in a joint press release.
As explained, the event will serve as a platform for dialogue on electricity market integration, strengthening energy security, developing strategic infrastructure, and ensuring the long-term resilience of Southeast Europe.
The Forum will bring together energy ministers from Western Balkan countries and EU member states, as well as senior representatives of European institutions, leading international financial institutions, and investors.
The aim of the Forum is to define concrete steps toward stronger regional connectivity and a more stable energy system.
Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic said that the energy transition is both a development opportunity and a strategic challenge for the entire region.
He stated that Montenegro strongly supports accelerated integration of the regional electricity market with the European market, as this is a prerequisite for greater security of supply, more stable prices, and attracting new investments.
Founder and director of the Summit, Biljana Braithwaite noted that the Adria Future Summit brings together decision-makers and leaders from the public and private sectors to create sustainable solutions for the region’s future.
“At a time when Montenegro is intensifying European integration and leading the Berlin Process, it is important to pave the way for strategic dialogue between governments, investors, and international partners,” Braithwaite said.
According to her, the Adria Future Summit is not just a conference, but a platform for concrete initiatives, partnerships, and investments that will accelerate the energy transition and strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness.
