Aco Djukanovic arrested, detention proposed over illegal arms possession

Podgorica, (MINA) - The State Prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Niksic has proposed detention for businessman Aco Djukanovic, the brother of former Montenegrin president Milo Djukanovic, on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive substances.
The ODT in Niksic announced that detention was requested due to the flight risk.
Police previously announced that Djukanovic was arrested after their officers, during a search of his family home in Rastoci, discovered a large quantity of firearms and ammunition in illegal possession.
Earlier, the State Prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Niksic ordered his custody, on suspicion of committing the same criminal offense.
