Accused in Roganovic murder case arrested in Italy

Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegrin national M.B. (33), accused of murdering Scepan Roganovic in Herceg Novi in 2020, has been arrested in Italy, the Police Administration announced.
The police stated that M.B, who is wanted by Montenegro and Austria, was located on Monday in Rimini, after an international targeted search codenamed “SMIT”.
According to the press release, M.B. is listed in the police records as a high-ranking member of an organized criminal group that operates at the national, regional and international level.
“The arrest was preceded by a several years of exchange of operational data and intelligence between European and regional teams for international targeted searches – FAST Montenegro, FAST Austria, FAST Italy, FAST Croatia, FAST Bosnia and Herzegovina and FAST Slovenia”, the press release said.
The police said that Interpol Podgorica issued an international arrest warrant for M.B. by order of the Podgorica High Court, to secure his presence in the criminal proceedings being conducted on suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of creating a criminal organization, aggravated murder and illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.
The police said that Interpol Vienna also issued an international warrant for M.B. by the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Vienna, to ensure his presence in the criminal proceedings conducted on suspicion that he committed the criminal acts of murder and attempted murder.
“On January 21, 2018, in the center of Vienna, he killed Vladimir Roganovic and seriously wounded S.V.”, the press release said.
It is stated that further communication between Interpol Podgorica and Interpol Rome will follow.
