Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The country continues to be plagued by high corruption and a construction mafia operating nationwide, said the leader of the United Reform Action (URA), Dritan Abazovic, adding that instead of opposing it, the Government promotes some of its segments.

Abazovic said in his podcast that he believes the Government is not willing to confront this issue; on the contrary, it acts as a promoter in many areas.

“Look, they want construction on Sveti Stefan, and everyone now in power was once against that project,” Abazovic said. 

He added that, lacking any vision or new projects, the Government has nothing else to offer, and that all their whims will be paid for by Montenegro’s citizens. He added that he would like to see a minister or prime minister who would invest their own private capital in such a project.

“Behind Velje Brdo lies a major illusion aimed at wasting enormous amounts of public money,” Abazovic believes.

He noted that behind everything are arrangements resulting from attempts at corrupt activities by the new government with certain construction companies.
