Abazovic: URA will not take part in opposition platform

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Civic Movement URA will not take part in the opposition platform for overcoming the political crisis, since it did not cause it in any way, nor is it responsible for hindering the country’s progress on EU path, said URA leader Dritan Abazovic.

He said this following a meeting with EU Ambassador Johann Sattler at the EU Delegation in Montenegro.

Abazovic said that the URA has been constructive so far and has not challenged the EU path, the portal RTCG reports.

“So far, we have supported all decisions in the interest of the country, and we have been warning of those harmful for the citizens of Montenegro, and there have not been few such decisions”, said Abazovic.

He stated that they would continue to do so in the future, whether about personal choices or agreements where the sovereignty of the state is violated.

“We have no problem with anyone and we don’t see anything wrong that Mr. Sattler tries to reconcile those who do”, Abazovic said.

He stated that they will not be part of the opposition platform, because they did not cause the crisis in any way, nor did they hinder the country’s EU path in any way.

When asked if he had discussed with Sattler the laws on the National Security Agency (ANB) and on internal affairs, Abazovic responded that the Agreement with the United Arab Emirates is much more concerning for him.

“I’m not in favor of the laws on ANB and on internal affairs. They are terrible and I cannot believe that ahead of the Summit with the EU we are talking about amending the laws forcibly adopted by the ruling majority only two months ago”, said Abazovic.

He assessed that the resignation of the Capital City Assembly Chair Jelena Borovinic Bojovic shows that the government in Podgorica doesn’t exist.

“They have no legitimacy and it is clear to everyone. Borovinic Bojovic might have decided to resign because she saw that the ship was sinking, and thus moved to the government. I have nothing against it”, Abazovic said.
