Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Star Residency programme, currently underway, brings together international professionals from the remote work community with the aim of promoting the region as an attractive destination for longer stays and remote work.
The program, implemented with financial support from the European Union, involves a group of experienced digital nomads who are traveling through Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina over the course of a month, combining remote work with exploring local destinations.
One of the participants, Michael Cohen, said that he is already two days into his multi-week journey as part of the Star Nomad Residency programme through Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“There is something about moving slowly through unfamiliar terrain – crossing borders, changing pace, adapting to new cities and rural environments for a few days – that strips away everything unnecessary. Over the next month, together with my colleagues from the Star Nomad Residency team, I expect to experience and document what life and work as a digital nomad in the field really look like: practical challenges, unexpected advantages, and community gathering places such as Code Hubs, which serve as meeting points in Niksic and Mostar, where digital nomads naturally come together,” Cohen said.
He hopes to have a series of stories, experiences, and useful insights worth sharing by mid-May.
Their stay is focused on authentic experiences, from natural beauty to cultural heritage, while using services of local tourism operators and spending extended time in selected locations. It is an intensive itinerary covering numerous sites in both countries.
The project is implemented by INTERA Technology Park in partnership with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Tehnopolis and the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, within framework of the IPA III CBC Programme Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027.
